The Hunt is Over- Hello Spring!

If you are anything like me you are very excited spring has finally sprung! For me spring is all about new beginnings. The snow melts away relieving a fresh start for all the plants and animals. On my drive into the office today there were signs of spring everywhere. These was an adorable little colt frolicking in the field. Weeping willows and a few flowering trees in full bloom! Even our fields are transitioning from brown to green with fresh grass. I can’t seem to help a smile emerging with every sign of spring I see. Soon everything will be bursting with color and it will be warm enough to transplant all my seedlings out into the garden! Until then I will enjoy the unveiling of spring from my windows, prep my garden beds and continue my seed starting indoors.

Last week I asked: What are you most looking forward to about spring? Everyone had such terrific answers- here are just a few.

Delisa says: You can almost hear the world outside awakening! The daffodils and tulips are spiking in the yard and the roses and trees are budding. Everything is reaching upward like a stretch after a long sleep. The empty garden spot is begging for spring planting And the sun just says, “Come outside!” The birds have returned and are singing in agreement with all of nature, “Spring is here! At last, spring is here!” What is there to not look forward to?! ☺ ♥ I love spring!

Sandy Abalos says: I am looking forward to spring most to witness the blooming in our orchard, watching the corn & potatoes sprout in the garden, transplanting my veggie seedlings, harvesting blueberries, blackberries, grapes & strawberries, and having so much fresh healthy produce to share with friends & family!

Cheryl Deutschman says: Digging into the dirt like a little kid and creating my happy place outside – my garden!!!!! :O)

Diane Kinnally says: Spring time means daffodils and tulips. It reminds me of my grandmother who was my inspiration to the world of gardening. Everything in nature was an opportunity to teach us something. She was a kindergarden teacher, a girlscout leader, but most importantly my grandmother.

Francene says: I can’t wait till I can get into our fields and check to see if the asparagus is up ! This was its second winter so I am planning to “steal” just a couple of spears for the first time – soooooo pumped !

Christine says: Rebirth, renewal, regrowth. I am starting with the help of others an organic garden at our public elementary/middle school. I can not wait to get in deep w/ dirt, plants and growth!

Lori Puzyn says: EVERYTHING!!!!! ( I can finally see my lawn & it’s still green yippie !!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAPPY SPRING
