It has been awhile since we had a giveaway on MasterGardening Blog so when I realized Memorial Day weekend was approaching I got a little excited. I love holidays since they are a great excuse to give some of our great products away! Recently while touring our warehouse I came across a Simple Garden starter kit that sadly lost its seeds. A quick visit to our seed section to select a couple organic seed packets and I had myself a great giveaway for my loyal readers!
It’s never too late to get started growing and this starter kit makes it easy to grow what I refer to as my ‘Sweet Duo’. If you haven’t already figured it out I really like intercropping and companion planting. Planting two or more plants together to help each other out is a great organic way to get larger harvests and to keep pests at a distant. The ‘Sweet Duo’ is another great companion planting pair of sweet basil and sweetie tomatoes. Basil helps repel flies, mosquitoes, mites, aphids and control tomato hornworms. Basil also has been reported to improve the flavor of your tomatoes, plus they are a classic cooking pair.
The Simple Garden is a great all in one container garden. In your starter kit you receive a self draining container, 2 packets of seeds, planter stick, soil cube, planter’s guide, and planter’s template. The Simple Garden is a perfect solution for any urban or small space gardener. You can choose to grow your plants completely indoors or transplant your seedlings to your outdoor garden.
If this planter doesn’t match your garden style check out our vast selection of pots and planters on our website MasterGardening.com.
Entering to win is easy- Just answer the following question by posting a comment below and you will automatically be entered into the random drawing. Then check our facebook page Tuesday (May 31st) to see if you won! And don’t forget you can save $5 on all pot & planter orders of $50 or more until May 31st! Code: Planter

Basil, oregano, sage, parsley! All inside at the moment because we cannot have a garden at this apartment. But in 1 week we will be all moved in to our new rental house with a big back yard. So all that will be going in the garden soon. And probably brought back in during the colder months.
I love to grow all the herbs indoors.
I have been growing lettuce actually inside.. We are stationed at Fort Hood Texas, meaning it is extremely dry and never no rain here. So this was my first year at gardening. I started 2nd week of February and already picked my romaine lettuce 3 weeks ago. I have awesome pictures I would love to share with you of my works and how I am learning all on my own. Its a great accomplishment. But finding out with lettuce, its so hard to grow certain things down here, its too hot..

Thank you for the info on basil. I did not know any of this.
Nothing better than having fresh herbs growing in (and around) my house!
What edibles do you like to grow indoors?
A wide variety of herbs and cherry tomatoes, to start.
I know they aren’t edibles but we also would like some flowers along with good oxygen producing plants. My husband is disabled and doesn’t leave the home except for Dr.s Appointments and he is deathly allergic to bee stings. But he loves all kinds of flowers. Growing them indoors would allow him to enjoy their beauty without the risk. He has COPD and also developed asthma late last year. Since he also loves plants, we are going to load up the house with great oxygen producing plants.
Thank you so much for your site and the information you provide.
God Bless You

Lettuce all winter long – so much better than store bought.
I’ve recently discovered Burpee’s boxwood basel plants. They look like little boxwoods with little boxwood leaf-shaped basel leaves. These are definitely coming inside this winter!
I have not grown any edibles indoors but I am growing basil, chives, & parsley this year. Keep your fingers crossed!!
various mints, basil, chives, garlic chives, salad greens, “little finger” carrots, tiny tomatoes, and radishes for hubby.
I would love to grow herbs in the house, but right now my first crop of basil, parsley, chives, and cilantro are growing outside.
I haven’t tried growing anything indoors, but with this system, I would be able to.
If I can get my supplies in time, I like to start parsley, basil and rosemary inside. Would love to have this system.
The only edibles I “grow indoors” are the potatoes & onions that sprout before I’ve had a chance to use them! But I have many edibles growing outdoors in raised beds & my orchard!
I love to grow my herbs in my kitchen. I always start my seeds inside also.
I love fresh herbs and grow them inside near a sunny window …mint, basil, oregano, thyme … it’s wonderful to break of fresh sprigs when cooking.
We grow a lot of herbs indoors: basil, cilantro, parsley, etc.
I love growing herbs indoors. Right now I have pineapple sage and rosemary growing in the kitchen.
I grow herbs and lettuce.
I love to have my basil, tarrgone and other herbs inside. It makes the house smell so good and they are at my fingertips to use when cooking. yummmy
I like growing herbs indoors. I used to garden outdoors, but now I am limited to a condo. I try to be as creative as possible indoors, but it is a whole different world. Hopefully this little planter will get me on the right track on gardening organically. Being a cancer survivor, organic is the only way I go now. Organic produce is becoming very expensive to buy, so I am going to try to grow it myself.
Currently nothing but I want to try rosemary, chives, and parsley.
I love to grow all my herbs inside–I always at least have parsley, basil and rosemary.
