Garden Spotlight – October 2011

October is here! Which means dropping temperatures, Halloween, fall crops and a new Garden Spotlight winner! We feature a different garden each month picking from garden photos submitted by our readers and loyal customer.

Congratulations Kathy Hellman your garden is the winner of our October Garden Spotlight! Kathy we will be getting your Deluxe Apple Slicer Corer Peeler right out to you!

Here is the winning photo of Kathy’s flourishing garden:

“Every year I say to myself ‘gardening is always a surprise’ the weather plays a factor as we all know every year. This year happened to be both challenging and a lot of hard work. But, success prevailed and we have reaped the harvest. After years of too much zucchini, I didn’t have any this year the wet season in spring killed my crop. But, boy did I get surprised with the hubbards, butternut squash, artichokes, broccoli, herbs and pumpkins galore. Those that work hard to garden work hand in hand with God. Rejoicing peace!  Oh, the tail you see in the pic is that of my blonde golden, whom turned into a pole bean junky. If I left the gate open to the garden I knew I could find him sneaking a few beans off the vine. Who knew:-)” -Kathy Hellman.
